About

Genovese Trauma & PTSD Recovery was created with the hope of offering clients more than a clinical appointment. The vision was to build a calm, welcoming space where people recovering from trauma could feel safe, cared for, and supported by professionals who understand the complex ways trauma can affect the mind, body, nervous system, relationships, sleep, work, and daily life.

Founded by Maddalena Genovese, Registered Psychologist, the clinic is dedicated to helping adults recover from PTSD, trauma, anxiety, panic, depression, chronic stress, and trauma-related pain or physical tension. Our approach recognizes that healing is not always one-dimensional. Many clients need evidence-based psychotherapy, but they may also benefit from additional trauma-informed services that support the body’s recovery process.

That is why Genovese Trauma & PTSD Recovery offers an integrated model of care in one place. Alongside trauma-focused psychotherapy, clients can access trauma-informed myofascial massage therapy and acupuncture with professionals who understand trauma-specific concerns, nervous system activation, chronic stress responses, and pain.

Psychotherapy services are grounded in evidence-based trauma treatments, including EMDR therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and other proven approaches. Our complementary services are designed to support recovery by addressing physical tension, stress-related pain, and nervous system regulation in a calm and respectful environment.

At Genovese Trauma & PTSD Recovery, our mission is to provide thoughtful, specialized care that helps clients feel supported, understood, and better equipped to move forward. The goal is not only to reduce symptoms, but to help people reconnect with a greater sense of safety, stability, and control in their lives.

Our Expertise

As Registered Psychologists, acupuncturists, and massage therapists, we specialize in evidence-based treatment for PTSD, trauma, and stress-related concerns. Our clinical psychology work is grounded in advanced training in EMDR therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

We support adults recovering from trauma connected to sexual assault, workplace injuries, accidents, medical trauma, first responder and military experiences, and other overwhelming life events. We also work with clients navigating anxiety, panic, depression, burnout, and major life stressors. Our clinic's integrated approach with psychological support, combined with massage therapy and acupuncture, allows us to help heal your mind and your body after trauma.

Our approach is structured, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s needs. Together, we work to reduce distress, improve daily functioning, strengthen emotional resilience, and help you move forward with a greater sense of clarity, confidence, and control.

Trusted Provider

We are an approved provider for TELUS Health, Veterans Affairs Canada, the Canadian Armed Forces, and the Workers' Compensation Board. These provider relationships reflect our commitment to delivering high-quality, professional, and evidence-based care for individuals recovering from trauma, PTSD, workplace injuries, and service-related experiences.

They also help reduce barriers to care by making it easier for eligible clients to access the mental health support they need during their recovery.

Our Vision

We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to recover from trauma and rebuild a life that feels steadier, fuller, and more their own.

Our vision was to create more than a clinic. We wanted to offer a place where people could step into a home that embodies calm, warmth, comfort, and care — a space where they can begin to feel supported as they move through recovery.

We created this space mindfully, with attention to how the environment feels from the moment someone arrives. From comfortable and beautiful therapy and treatment rooms to the overall warmth of the clinic, every detail was chosen with the hope of helping clients feel cared for, respected, and at ease.

This same intention guided the professionals brought into the clinic. They have been thoughtfully chosen, so their work complements trauma-focused psychotherapy and those who share the same vision, values, and genuine passion for supporting people in their recovery.

Genovese Trauma & PTSD Recovery was designed to feel welcoming and restorative — a place where clients can exhale, feel supported, and take meaningful steps toward caring for themselves.

This vision also reflects my belief that recovery often involves the whole person — the mind, body, and nervous system. Through evidence-based trauma therapy, trauma-informed massage therapy, and acupuncture, my goal is to offer thoughtful, specialized care that helps clients feel understood and better able to move forward with greater stability, confidence, and control.

If you are struggling with the after-effects of trauma or PTSD, reach out to Genovese Trauma & PTSD Recovery to reclaim your life after trauma.
